I am not a RE Mastermind yet (reading up and learning what I can right now), but I am in Chandler. If you wouldn't mind having a rookie in the group, I could be interested.

Being a newbie, could you explain the mastermind concept briefly ?
I would love to pick the brains of other investors and get ideas for my 4 plex, only investment at this time.

Bruce Michaud I got this from someone else but I like it so I'll share it.
The Women Business Owners of Montgomery County in Maryland web site has the following excellent summary of their Mastermind program, structure and processes, which I have excerpted below:
MastermindMastermind groups (MMGs) are small groups who are dedicated to developing their businesses using a cross-mentoring approach. The groups' purpose is to provide structure, suggestions, and moral support to each member to further her success in business. MMGs meet regularly to share ideas and critique plans in a supportive, confidential environment.
Although each group establishes and agrees to its own parameters and procedures, successful MMGs are generally based on the following principles.
Group Criteria:
• Maximum of 8 members, to allow time for everyone to share at each meeting.
• All members are committed to developing their businesses by setting goals and reporting at each meeting on the progress they have made toward meeting those goals.
• Meetings held twice a month (e.g., first and third Monday) for 90 minutes and will start and end on time.
• Participation by all is encouraged and expected.
Expectations of members:
1. Commitment to attend meetings.
2. Commitment to setting and making progress toward personal goals.
3. Confidentiality
Non-compete provision: Members are not in direct competition with each other.
Group duration: Commitment of 2 months, followed by a re-evaluation.
Issue presentation is a key activity in a good Mastermind Group. In the best cases, this is a three-step process. First, a member presents an issue to the group, next is the discovery phase where members ask questions to clarify the issue. Finally, the members present solutions to the member who has presented the issue. If this is done right, everyone benefits.

I'm in Jacksonville NC, fairly close to Greensboro, if you send me his information I'd love to look into it. And Bruce Michaud, it would be worth reading "Think and Grow Rich", it's a great book and I believe thats where the Mastermind concept originated.

Dick, I live in Chandler and would also be interested, but would not limit the group size to 8. I have 5-10 guys that would probably come on a regular basis right now and the more the merrier I say. I have a good friend in KC that does a group and it is very dynamic and they do a tin of deals together. They meet every Wed morning and they have around 40-60 regular attendees and they provide great content and great networking and have a speaker every week. I would be interested in meeting monthly to start and see where it goes. I have done Performing and Non-Performing Notes, flips,private lending and buy and holds and subject to's.

Looks like this thread is fairly old, so I'm not sure if anyone is still interested besides Jason. I also live in Chandler, working on my first deal right now and would be interested in learning from others and prepping for my second purchase.
Hi Jason, I think you are speaking more of a networking group to which I already regularly attend several. The smallest of the groups is about 75 regulars once a month with a speaker. What I'm really looking for is a small group that can sit around a table and basically mentor and/or hold one another accountable for their own goals. I had a group like this in Minnesota that worked out really well for 5-6 novices and then we would bring in 1 or 2 newbies just to keep things fresh.

Dick, I am thinking of a combination. There are the big ones like AZREIA and Phoenix Real Estate Club, both of which I am a member of, but seldom do deals get done. It is good for a little amount of networking. I am thinking of more of an exchange where some deals can get done as well as some networking and education.

I tried earlier this year to set up a get together from people who said they had an interest in meeting up, but no one responded. Hope you have better luck, but I would be in. Southeast Valley.
