I’m interested in increasing my footprint in the Atlanta Area after recently purchasing an investment property in Smyrna. Someone mentioned looking at Hapeville, GA (near the airport) and some of the options looks ideal. Anyone have any thoughts or experience in that particular area? Is it worth seriously considering for investment purposes - for short-term or long-term leasing?
@Kingsley Ojo hey Kingsley! Hapeville is definitely on the up and up. There are already quite a few rehabbed properties renting from $1300+.Over the next few years the city will be developing in the area which was once called Airport City but has now been renamed to Six West Development. It will affect Hapeville, East Point, College Park, South Fulton and some parts of Riverdale. There’s definitely potential for a good deal

What type of property are you looking for Single Family, Multi-Family buildings, Individual condos or Townhouse Units?
Absolutely love Hapeville. Most developed of the Tri-Cities. Google "Airport City" and "Aerotropolis". Going to be tough to get in there at a good price but there are few places in Atl I rather own in.
It's definitely gotten more expensive in the last 2-3 years, but I wouldn't be surprised if there were some deals left. There are a couple of private schools in the area, and it's near the airport, which may attract some decent tenants as well.
It has been a while since I lived in the area and have to say that near the airport was not one of my favorite parts of Atlanta. I would definitely stay away from Clayton County. We use to say that all the nut cases congregated there and know at one point the school district lost its accreditation which did a number on property value.

@Kingsley Ojo I live in Smyrna and have a rental here too. I'm going to acquire more in Cobb county later this year and next year too. Just curious your thoughts on the market in Cobb. I like it because of the highway expansion, Battery, and new and upcoming office parks.
