Foundation work and the deck

My rental needs to do some work to the walls in the basement. There is a deck in the front and needs to remove it before doing the digging of the soil. Is there any way that I can keep the deck without demolishing it since to rebuild a new one is pretty expensive?

Aloha,

Impossible to say without knowing how the existing is constructed; how big; is it simple square/rectangle or irregular... It certainly is not recommended, and most likely the movement that would occur will strain and weaken the structure, requiring additional work to reinstall. It may be a better solution to have the digging performed by hand, or possibly a very small excavator. You may also be able to completely disassemble the deck, and at least re-use most of the lumber, if it is in good enough condition.
