I'm a local construction business owner looking to expand into property support services, and I'd love some feedback from landlords and property managers in the Greater Houston area.
I'm curious how many of you struggle with the time spent handling maintenance requests, scheduling contractors, communicating with tenants, and following up on repairs.
I'm exploring a service that would help take some of that administrative workload off your plate without requiring you to replace your existing contractors or change how you manage your properties.
For those managing multiple rental properties, is this something you'd consider outsourcing, or do you feel your current system works well enough?
I'm especially interested in hearing what challenges you face and whether this type of support would actually be valuable to your business.
Rhapsody, the part I’d want you to take ownership of is the follow-up after a contractor says they’ll come out. Was the appointment confirmed, did they get access, and is the issue actually resolved? Since you’d be working with the owner’s existing vendors, I’d test the service with one of those vendors first. That should expose where you need permission to act and where you can just get on with it.
Thank you! That is also something that would be part of the service overall. As a business owner, I know that chasing the contractor can sometimes be the worst part! Checking in with the customer on completion and satisfaction. I've had people come to my home and technically fixed the problem but I didnt enjoy how or what they did to fix it. Im also not hoping to introduce a trope of new contractors just because im handling it. Of course I can find them but I need to know their system first.
