In no way am I associated with Renovation Realty, but I live in CA and it looks like their business model is growing in my state; they just opened a franchise office in the Bay Area.
Apparently they rehab your house and help you sell it for the higher ARV. I'm curious if anyone else has heard about this company, and if you believe it is a good or bad idea or will gain any traction?

Someone has a show on Bravo like that, i think. Never heard of them before your post. I was looking for a bio / about page on the website but didn't see one. Not a bad idea. Yet if you wanted to do the same thing you could without buying into their franchise....
You're right: a downside is probably the franchise fee. Maybe an upside would be scalability with a larger one-stop network...
True and true. So being as though you are interested(even if its just a little), why don't you vet the company, talk to a couple of their franchisees, then way your options after its all said and done to see if its something that will work for you.

I'm a former broker and contractor, only investing now but for someone who has worn both hats, this seems like a pretty good business model.
People, whether they're selling or not would rather work with one contractor on any project. In a selling position it seems like this would benefit the seller by knowing their broker/agent is on board to see them through the process of getting the highest sell amount possible. In many cases a seller is already going through their agent for references on contractors to use and trust and all broker offices have their "go to" contractors on speed dial anyways. This seems like a no brainer... I can't see why this wouldn't take off.
In therory, somebody had a good idea... Lets's advertise what were are all ready doing... Good luck
