Condos a good beginner investment?

Hey Everyone,

We are in the Reno/Sparks Nevada market and it is a really hot market at the moment. With Tesla and other tech and logistics companies moving here (our large industrial park, something like 104,000 acres, just sold the last open land they had, which is rumored to have been bought by a Google subsidiary) prices have rocketed up, making even the junkiest SFR's a bad deal at the moment. We are just getting our ducks in a row, so to speak, and wondering what experienced investors think of condos as investments to get our foot in the door.
