Eliminating Your Fears

What are you afraid of?

It’s safe to assume that we all fear something in our lives. Perhaps you may be afraid of public speaking, getting out of your comfort zone, or even putting your trust in others. These fears may be rational but they can also keep you from reaching your goals.

Eliminating these fears is one step towards achieving greater things, only if you learn not only to let go of them but to stop them from ruling your life.

Here are a few ways you can rid yourself of all your fears:

Define your fears

To face your fears is to know what they are in the first place.

Describe your fears. Where do they come from? What triggers them? Acknowledging these is the first step to facing them rather than pretending that they don’t exist at all.

Also, don’t numb the pain that your fears cause. This only makes things worse when you have to inevitably face your fears in the future.

Think of life without your fears

Imagine your life without these fears holding you back. How would it fare? Is your life better off without them? What difference does it make?

Considering those questions and thinking about what you’re trying to accomplish without these fears in the picture is the next step to eliminating them from your life.

The important part is that you can plan out the best path for the rest of your life without these fears in your thoughts. It gives you the clarity you need to consider pursuing your goals instead.

Learn from your past mistakes

What mistakes have rooted these fears in your heart? Think about them carefully. It might not have been as bad as you remembered.

Our fears can sometimes stem from mistakes made in the past that perhaps kept us from taking any second chances, and in most cases, you may be justified to feel that way.

But you should never fall from a single stumble in your life, as there are plenty of opportunities to pick yourself back up and keep at it. Don’t let your mistakes keep you from becoming a better person.

Take action, make changes

Eliminating these fears requires you to take action and actually make changes to your life.

Open your mind to as many possibilities as you can, question your fears instead of standing by them, and just be creative in leaping farther than you ever have before with your newfound freedom.

It’s an incredibly liberating feeling when your fears no longer rule over your life. It feels like you’re an entirely new person when you take action for yourself and become the changes that you need in your life.

So, be rid of the fears that hold you back and let nothing keep you from the future any longer!
