Staging your Home

Your home is for sale, now what?

In order to assure your house to go quick there are multiple factors that can be accounted for such as pricing it according to the market value, but also staging your house to make it presentable to all types of buyers is important.

Here are some tips that will help in getting your house ready for that desirable sale:

De-Clutter

Its amazing how much stuff can be accumulated over time, but now its time to do something about it. Some of the things that create clutter are items that we have not used in years but continue to hold onto. If you havent used it, why not get rid of it?

De-Personalize

Take down family portraits and anything that can be considered personalized, this way the buyers walking into the home can imagine it as thiers.

Organize

Buyers will open up the closet doors, the cabinets, and anything else you can think of so you want to assure that it is presentable.

Curb Appeal

Remember the saying the first impressions are the most important, well its true for houses too. When the buyer pulls up into the driveway you want to make sure its approachable, keep the lawn cut, maybe even a little paint on the outside might help.

Remove/Replace Items

Remove and replace any items which are not staying at the house, not saying to remove everything, but the items that would be assumed to stay such as a chandelier that you want to keep. That way the buyers won’t see it and won’t through the deal away because it is not included.

Make Repairs

Repairing the minor things throughout the home can add value, such as covering up a hole on the wall, replacing some of the cracked tile throughout the home, anything that would catch your eye or something you’ve been meaning to get around to. If your kids decided they wanted bright rooms, you may want to think about painting them with a more neutral color (doesn’t always have to be white).

Clean

Make sure that you maintain cleanliness throughout the home and it has a welcoming smell to it. If you have a pool, make sure it’s not green.
