Mission Hills, CA

Mission Hills is one of San Diego’s oldest and most desirable neighborhoods.  It’s located just west of Hillcrest and overlooks Mission Valley and Presidio Park.  Since it’s relatively close to Downtown San Diego, it makes living in this community very convenient due to its accessibility from State Route 163.

From Mission Hills, you can travel to the Gaslamp District or Little Italy for more choices in restaurants.  If major shopping is your desire, simply hop on the 163, travel north to the Mission Valley or Fashion Valley Malls for all your major purchases.

Even though Mission Hills is a community on the smaller size, it does have its own business district.  Most of the local businesses are situated along West Washington Street from Hillcrest to the east.  On Goldfinch Street, between West Washington and Fort Stockton, is the business hub of this community.  This is where you’ll find restaurants, shops, pubs and other services that make this area so complete.

Keep in mind that most of the action and nightlife takes place within “strolling distance” just a few miles away at the neighboring community of Hillcrest.  There you will find more restaurants, bars, shopping, movie theatres and a livelier city.   However, if you are looking for the best night of Karaoke fun, try the Lamplighter in downtown Mission Hills and join the fun!

One attraction of this community is the well-established Mission Hills Nursery located on Fort Stockton Drive, between Randolph Street and Palmetto Way.  This classic, traditional nursery has been in business since 1910 and still going strong.  Their motto of “Life’s a Garden, Dig It” has given them a solid customer base for all these years.  From plants to flowers to even vegetables, they have it all.

Mission Hills is a quiet, quaint neighborhood in the community of San Diego. Old stately homes, picturesque craftsman bungalows and large mansions line the quiet streets that give Mission Hills homes their appeal.  It might be the community for you.
