Say "Ah...": The Benefits of Networking

I tell you, this journey of entrepreneurship is something else!

I recently attended our city’s Chamber of Commerce In the Mix networking mixer. For the price ($20 for non-members), it was definitely worth every penny!

I had the opportunity to talk and meet people from all types of businesses…security, concierge, several banks, attorneys, non-profits, staffing agencies, etc.

Granted, my initial purpose of attending this event was to inform entrepreneurs about real estate investing and the secure and consistent returns they provide. However, as soon as I quoted my elaborate value proposition, several people replied: “Really? I have a house for sale!”

Now I have 5 houses to research and I’m praying that these leads turn out to be something that we can profit from. I have to turn on my creativity and see what comes up.

Oh, did I mention that I ran out of my Bell Investments cards? Geesh!

I didn’t let that stop me. I actually had a stack of my piano studio cards and wrote our website on the front of them. As a result, I also picked up 3 potential piano students!

• Bring all of your business cards. Your goal is to talk to everyone in the room!
