Are You Prepared?

I was attracted to a news story yesterday that caused me to pause and think.From ABC Ch7, Manila, Utah;

Jared Ropelato,12 years old was on a Boy Scout camping trip in the Ashley National Forest, Utah. Seems Jared became separated from his troop while on a hike.Jared was wearing jeans & a shirt. No food, no water. This kid depended on his survival skills.Jared built a shelter from tree branches and covered himself with dirt to fight the 31 degree night temps. He was rescued Saturday morning, no worse for the wear.

"He did everything right that he learned from the scouts, not from me," said Jared's mother Dawn Ropelato.

This story ended well. Unlike most "lost" in the forest story's.I started to think; can I learn from 12 year old Jared? Why yes I can! Use your skills,do it right & never,never,never give up.
