Want Affordable Housing Off the Grid ?
I have been following this blog for quite a while. Steve, no last name, is a computer programmer by day. He is building a cabin in Northern Wisconsin on property he owns.
Why so special? Steve is using Shipping Containers for the structure. He has this down to a science. But, through a lot of research and trial and error.
I was interested in what Steve was doing for a different reason. I wanted to develop a 10 unit site for affordable housing.(rentals). Steve has taken his design to the max. I had a “no frills”, cookie cutter design for the interior and exterior. I couldn’t get the numbers to work from one item, the plumbing. All the counties that surround Houston require extensive plumbing regulations. Until I can solve that problem, my project is on the shelf.
Anyway, take a look at what Steve is doing. It’s well worth the time.
