Letter from the IRS

Well I got a letter from the IRS today about a mistake on my 2012 taxes...

Apparently there were a few miscalculations on it.

Of course that isn't bad when they tell you that you are getting almost $4,500 as a refund!

We actually have been expecting to hear about a (Much smaller) refund as we did find some mistakes after we filed and sent in an amended return. Still not a place you generally expect to get happy news from! :)

  1. I'm so dreading that first big year, from a tax preparation standpoint. lol

    1. Well it is a lot better than the alternative right? :) Same apology as on that other post where I was not getting my alerts on comments so I didn't respond sooner.

  2. Shaun, Just hope a letter doesn't come later on.

    1. Yeah I agree. At least for now I'm not that worried since this was from THEM saying that we overestimated some interest and penalties. We have been tightening up records and stuff so next year will be a little better (2012 was the hockey stick growth year for the business).

  3. Shaun, good news that you didn't get audited or have to pay more!

    1. Yeah wasn't to excited when I saw the letter until I opened it. :)
