Coral Springs FL Business-Friendly Pilot Program

Coral Springs FL is starting a business-friendly pilot program this was developed to help reduce the turnaround time for redevelopment projects. A staff committee has already been appointed by the city Manager to review conditional use waivers for variances and special exceptions to the Land Development Code Petitions. This will help businesses in the area to shorten the time frame of their redevelopment projects.

Many of the applications that are expected to come under preview in the pilot program are mostly related to landscaping, parking, window signage and valet parking. Through the pilot program the City of Coral Springs will allow businesses to add window signs that cover up to 20% of the total window space, a maximum of 21.5 square feet of space. The current code allows only 15% of the window space to be covered. Graphics, photos and logos are allowed to be up to 12 inches, which is up from the current 9 inches. And, a logo that stands alone can be up to 18 inches. The city will also consider requests for new screening materials to use when fencing off a project.
