My Dream Team Nightmare

I have read many times that in order to be successful I need a Realtor and Title Agent or Attorney on my team....easier said than done. I thought I would have that in the bag since I happen to know at least three Realtors and have at least two Attorneys that deal with Real Estate in my family. No such luck. I have talked to each one of them and they all say the same thing..."I will have to think about it".

So here I am almost a year into the business and I still have no Realtor...so I have no MLS access and I have no Title Agent. Talk about frustrated. I have always been a person that will do a job myself, so I have recently toyed with the idea of getting my Realtors License.

In the mean time, I am still learning all I can and continuing to market and work on my buisness. I am not sure why no one I know is willing to come on board with me, but I do know that when I make it big...they will "come a running"

 1. Start networking with local investors here on BiggerPockets. You can set up keyword alerts for important local terms like "College Station" "Bryan Texas" and so on. Then, when someone on site talks about stuff local to you, you can jump in and network. Also use the site's search feature to find locals. Hopefully those tips help a little...

 2. Hi Mr. Dorkin, I have found one investment group here in my town and for some reason they do not meet in person. They are only online and not very often. I am in contact with a couple of investors on here that are close to me.

 3. Kendra - Look for a local investor group and ask them for recommendations for investor-friendly Realtors and attorneys. It sounds like your family doesn't want any part of this endeavor . . . once you start proving yourself, I'm guessing that will change. Don't let the challenges slow you down. Keep at it and learn the basics so you can get out and start doing some deals.
