Music Under the Stars in Ventura
Summer has arrived in Southern California! That means that the Music Under the Stars summer music program in Ventura is almost here. Beginning July 9, 2011 and continuing every Saturday through September 3, 2011, Ventura's Music Under the Stars offers live music and great food for everyone from 7:30pm to 9:30pm at the Historic Olivas Adobe (4200 Olivas Park Dr).
The schedule of artists set to perform throughout the summer concert series is as follows:
- July 9, 2011 - Louie Cruz Beltran, Playboy Jazz Festival favorite, Afro-Cuban and Brazilian music
- July 16, 2011 - Barbara Morrison, blues and jazz queen
- July 23, 2011 - Upstream, blends reggae and soca sounds with a Caribbean beat
- July 30, 2011 - Whiskey Dawn, one of California's hottest country bands
- August 6, 2011 - Soul City Survivors, Santa Barbara's own big horn soul band
- August 13, 2011 - Front Street Prophets, classic blues and R&B sounds
- August 20, 2011 - Army of Freshmen, indy rock at its finest
- August 27, 2011 - Lisa Haley & the Zydekats, Cajun-infused fiddling Zydeco music
- September 3, 2011 - Rob Rio & the Revolvers, old style boogie-woogie
Gates will open at 6:30pm. Tickets are just $20 each and seating is limited. So, make sure you order your tickets early. You can order tickets at the Ventura City Hall 10am-5pm, call 805-658-4726 Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm or fill out the downloadable order form and mail it to Music Under the Stars, PO Box 99, Room 226, Ventura, CA, 93002. You can order food to eat there or bring your own.
