Steps to Spot a Leaky Apartment

How do you know if an apartment has leaks? What are the things you need to check before you can determine the quality of an apartment building?

When you are planning to buy an apartment in Auckland, it’s essential to know if there are leaks within that apartment. The first things to look for are visible cracks in and around the cladding. This will tell you that this particular apartment will have leaky issues in the long run.

Most of the time these cracks are small, but they will expand in time and that could lead to leaks. Always remember that small cracks are caused by water that got behind the cladding. When it meets up with another material, it expands that material and the build-up of moisture occurs. In time, those small cracks become leaks and that could give the apartment owner a lot of problems.
