Time required to have electric meter installed on new house.

It took two months for the elcetric company to install the electric meter. Not sure why it took so long but I'm glad we now have electricity. We need about 2 days to put the finishing touches on the house and it will be ready to be shown.

  1. Jim, I never did find out. I plan to ask around to see if I could figure out what happened. I've been told that since the housing market crashed, inspections and installations have slowed down dramatically because they have too many inspectors. If they all do their jobs efficiently there is no need for all of them to keep their jobs. Not sure if that is correct, but it's one thing I've heard.

  2. Did you ever find out why it took so long?

  3. Congrats on the hook up! Be sure to share pics with all of us once the project is complete.
