TO USE RENTREDI OR TO NOT??? THAT IS THE QUESTION!

So I am reporting from a neutral stand point on the Rentredi software after 2 weeks of being a member. I would love to hear opinions from others who have more experience with Rentredi. I will update this post as time progresses. 

I was contacted by a Rentredi Rep after expressing interest. He was very well spoken and sold me on both the program capabilities and  the "24 hr customer service" Also he did send me the Bigger pockets pro member 50% off code that I could not find so that was great! 

After paying for the service I did have some difficulties mostly because I was expecting to use Rentredi to list my properties and screen my tenants that first week ( leasing goal the 15th, Jan. 2022)  What I ran into was the fact, you can not list or really use the site until you attach a payment account ( bank account to a property). After adding account I ran into almost week of issues verifying a simple checking account. I became fairly frustrated with the run around between the 4 different service reps. Anyway its operational as of today so i am going to chalk this experience up to a ****** start and hope for the best moving forward. I will update this with my thoughts after some more time using the website and app. 


I would love to know what the popular opinion is for RentRedi from other BP members. looking for assurance or if i should cut my losses quickly?

Curious to know if anyone has any better solutions? I use Apartments.com for collection and maintenance requests and Stessa for bookkeeping but would like to use one software if its not exorbitantly priced like $99/month. Thanks in advance.

    Update: Rentredi has proven to be absolute garbage! full of bugs in the software and an a team of fools. IM REQUESTING A FULL REFUND AND NOW LOOKING FOR A NEW SOFTWARE. I WOULD LOVE SUGGESTIONS.

    @Orion Patenaude I signed up because of the Latchel product so we could have them handle maintenance issues that are emergency or nonemergency. But so far no tenant has used that service 6 months later and the rest of the platform is full of bugs. I'm moving back to Zillow rent manager for listing and screening tenants and rocket lawyer for leases and now on Baselane for bookkeeping and rent collection.

    How are you getting tenants to switch to a new app? That has been hard to do.

     Well the Founder of RentRedi reached out to me via phone and that truly helped me feel better about them as a company. However i agree there software has bugs they need to work out. I think Rentredi is fine for some one who adds a few tenants a year but any more than that would frustrate me. I am giving them another shot though before i make the swap. Only because Ed Barron's phone call though. i will follow up.

    Lol. Any updates for us? I’m trying to decide whether to use RentRedi vs Buildium… I’d love to hear what your thinking about them now.

    its collecting rent like it should but thats it so far. im gonna look at Avail after a friend suggested it.

    I just signed up for the free version of Avail and I am finding that I'm unsure if I want to use it after tinkering around for a day or so. I used myself as a test dummy for one of my units and IDK, I just don't like it from both the Landlord/Tenant perspectives. From the tenant side, it's a bare bones, basic portal which is fine. I wasn't expecting a super intuitive user experience, but they found a way to through some advertising for stuff in there of course. What I didnt particularly like was the reminders to fill in data. I have inherited tenants and have there basic information already, so to get nagged about entering in information was not ideal. From a landlord perspective, there are limited features for accounting. I dont want to have to manually input income and expenses when I have an acount connected already. The income input really got me...if Avail is collecting and trackign the rent, why do I still need to input income, that makes no sense. There were some other little things that annoyed me in terms of completing the tenant profile, but those were minor.

    Having read the comments on Rent Redi, I thought I would get the auto accounting feature. But the consistency of reports buggy system has given me pause. I just want to collect the rent online, an easy way to organize tenants and maintenance, and basic automated accounting without paying an arm and a leg. I might have to piece-mail this thing like some of you all are doing.

    We use apartments.com and it seems to be easy on both ends.you might give that platform a look.

    To anyone that is interested,

    I signed up for RentRedi last week because of the great pricing ($45 dollars for 6 months with BP promo codes) and it had most of the features that I was looking for.  As soon as I log on to get everything setup and start linking bank accounts I discover they want to charge me an additional $99 a month to use their accounting software, which I was led to believe was included!  As far as I have seen this price is hidden until you already have signed up for an account with them.   On top of that they say I'm "eligible" (and required) for their professional plan due to number of units - No idea if there are any extra benefits to this plan or they just want more money out of your pockets.

    This is steep considering there are a number of PM software out there that have built-in accounting features (at no extra cost).

    rentRedi is NOT Ready for prime time.  I wish I had seen this thread before paying for a subscription.  What a piece of garbage.  Its not a serious platform.  Its good for smaller size portfolios, but definitely not for anyone with any multi family properties or multiple portfolios.  Sigh, oh well.  I will keep looking

    For the record, I use Stessa for rent collection and accounting.  I am looking for maintenance/issue management and also looking for screening, though stessa just released some functionality for that

    I'd say no. I use Innago and constantly have a rep assigned to me that I can ask any questions and get responses back in a timely manner. I also do pay for Innago either!

     I guess this is a late response but I use RentRedi to screen people before accepting them as tenants and I like it.  I thought collecting rent that way would also be good but really didn't like that they wanted to charge my tenants for doing that.  I love my tenants and most of them stay and stay.  Yay!  I collect through Venmo usually.  I only have 6 properties too so am able to keep up.

     That's a great idea to use yourself as a test case to see what your tenants are seeing.  I'm using it!
