Hi Nani,

Congratulations on getting pre-qualified! Since this will be your first home, I’d focus on understanding the local short-term rental regulations before choosing a property. Some areas have restrictions that can significantly affect your plans, so it’s important to verify those early.

I’d also build a team with an investor-friendly Realtor and lender who understand short-term rentals and can help you evaluate both the property and the financing. Starting with the right guidance can save you a lot of time and money.

    Hi Nani,

Congratulations on getting pre-qualified! Since this will be your first home, I'd start by confirming the local short-term rental rules before choosing a property. Regulations can vary by area, and it's important to know what will be allowed before making an offer.

I'd also work with an investor-friendly Realtor and lender who understand short-term rentals and can help you evaluate both the property and the financing. Having the right team from the beginning can make the process much smoother.

I'm a mortgage broker and work with first-time buyers and investors. Feel free to send me a message if you'd like to discuss financing options or what to look for as you start your search.

@Nani Noverita , let's connect. Being on the road nine months a year is a big part of this, since someone else would be running the house and the guests most of the time. What are your exit strategies?

A first home loan also usually means living there as your main home, so find out early how that fits with renting it short term.

I'd happily make some introductions, since good people matter more when you're away that much. Would it be your home base between trips?
