Where we live (Aspen, CO) investment properties are impossible to finance, a double wide trailer was listed at 375,000.... so we would like to look into other options.

Eyes Wide OpenThere are certainly more maintenance costs as the houses are older, this is why it is absolutely imperative to ensure you have people on the ground and you are not over paying for maintenance otherwise it will kill your cash flow.Many property managers enjoy over charging, beware.I am very bullish on the Detroit market because I am seeing that things are starting to move and I am in for appreciation and cash flow.

I'm from that area - depends - the downtown area can be seedy, but the city has tried to spruce it up with the new arena, etc.There's also a ton of higher end and nicer areas that still have an Allentown address - it really covers a huge array of clientele.
