If your goal is to build a portfolio to replace your current income, and/or to bring in extra cash flow, ride appreciation increases, then you should likely set it up like a business.If your goal is to learn about a strategy because you just inherited a SFR and have no idea if it's something you want to continue, then maybe it's more of a hobby.I think the majority of people here on BP are probably leaning more towards building a portfolio and treating it like a business, but it depends on individual circumstances, your goals, etc.
