Unfortunately while I have not had specifically a drive by shooting I have had incidents, Ill name a few below. 

I would guide you to examine those areas above first.

@David Carfagnini I might examine this a little differently. 

We were able to also examine the wiring behind the wall, and it's all fine and not burnt (no rewire required).

I would examine the terms of the lease you created very carefully and see if there is a provision which allows you to do an "Occupancy check" or something similar.

If you’re not on the ground, don’t stress about driving for dollars the old-school way.
