Yep, I remember reading this NYTimes story last year about roadside motels having a moment with hipsters buying dilapidated properties and blowing them out with style.

Deal makers-  more than one road side, shape of land relative to road access, nasty properties, market availability, boulders, water- you can make ponds, trees, walk out basements, isolation or access, Texas interstate traffic is not your market, look at loopnet or Crexi- look for the oldest listings.

Highway hotel on busy 35 highway. 19 hotel rooms plus owners apartment, large laundry room with commercial washer and dryer, large parking lot, front desk, lobby, roadside sign.
