Avid Hiker Looking at VA
Hi all,
My fiance and I are avid hikers and she loves Shenandoah NP. We currently have 2 STRs and a LTR in Indiana, but I want to invest in the Rileyville/Bentonville area. Our strategy is to focus on places that we would love to travel to ourselves.
With this being my first out-of-state investment, I really need to find a team that can help us with funding for both the land and new construction and contractors (we would have the building plans already).
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Adam
@Adam Kays you should reach out to @Michael H. Cook . He's written a few great blog articles on the areas as well with regulations !

Adam,
It looks like you were pointed in the right direction.
I also love to hike in my free time, which unfortunately is very limited at the moment. I did a hike last year on the Appalachian Trail (AT) in the Shenandoah NP and loved it. Since then I have bought land and I am building a house not far from Damascus, VA. One of the main reasons we bought where we did is because of how close to the AT it is. My intent is to attempt a AT Thru hike when I retire from my day job. Good luck with your efforts.
@Adam Kays a great point of contact and resource in the Shenandoah Valley is @Michael H. Cook he's written a few articles on which areas have the best STR regulations for individuals just like yourself.
Good luck!

@Adam Kays Hi Adam. Another great place for hiking and 4 season fun is New Hampshire. I know I’m off topic but it’s got some of the best hiking. Not so much so with the wineries though…
