New member from San Jose, CA
Hi everyone,
I am new to the site and so far I find it to be a gold mine. I consider myself fairly knowledgeable about R.E. investment (primarily from the many books I've read) but in reality I have very little practical experience. I am looking to slowly transition out of my corporate America job and into a full time REI. I currently own a home in San Jose which I bought 13 years ago at half of what it is valued at today (crazy SF Bay Area prices). I also own a condo in Weston, FL which I rent out.
I am looking to learn more about real estate investments, maybe partnering with someone on a multi-unit investment. I am also very interested in turnkey investments given that I am still very much consumed by my full time job. I look forward to meeting folks on the site and sharing info with all of you. Happy Investing !
Welcome! I am new to this website and REI entirely but I am from San Jose also so thought I would make this my first post.
What were some of the first books you started reading to educate yourself?
Best,
Aaron

Welcome Luis! Oh man, small world. I know Weston pretty well. Despite growing up in Atlanta, I was born in Plantation (lived in Cooper City) and later worked out of North Perry Airport after college for a little while. How did you end up with property in Weston? It's SO nice out there.
I live in CA now too (but down south in LA) and I also buy turnkeys.
Welcome to BP Family! Hope you will get good information related to Real Estate Investments.
Good Luck!
@Luis RolandoWelcome to bigger pockets it will change your life!
Hi and welcome to BP. What markets are you considering for your turnkey investments? I also invest in turnkey properties out of state.
Thanks @Larry Fried. I've explored Memphis and Dallas so far. I have made no decisions on this yet. I'd like to explore good markets a bit closer to home (but not in CA). How are things in Eugene? My wife went to school at UO so I am a little familiar with it.
Cheers!
thank you @Aaron Chai. I look forward to it.
Hi @Ali Boone - thanks. Well I had to move my parents from South America and they ended up in Weston. I really liked it there and I figure I would buy something for myself near them. I see you are also a pilot - I used to be - went to Embry-Riddle in Daytona but I became a computer programming nerd along the way ;-). What are you doing in terms of turnkey? Are you investing in CA?
cheers to you!
Eugene is a pretty place to live and a good community. We came to live here because my wife teaches at the UO, for nine years now.
You're a Riddler?? Awesome! I went down there when I was at Middle Tenn State to hang out with their AHP frat. I was in it at MTSU. Fun crowd! And small world. I stayed a pilot but went the engineering route professionally, then bounced from that for real estate.
No properties in CA. No cash flow here. I bought all my turnkeys out-of-state, love them, and now work with people buying turnkeys to help them through the process and find good folks, etc. Saw you PM-ed me...will respond more there!
