Ceiling Texture for Higher End Homes?

Ceiling Texture for Higher End Homes?

Hello, we are doing a couple high end homes and would like to know your thoughts on ceiling textures. I know that knockdown is a decent ceiling texture but I noticed "orange peel, egg shell" look is what a lot of the builders use here. We are looking to do a modern look, any thoughts would be grateful.

Thanks

My vote is for the orange peel, thicker on higher ceilings but match the walls... :)

This is going to be location dependent (whatever is customary in your area), so I don't think any of us can answer your question without knowing where you live...

Smooth wall or a light orange peel on high end. IMO, knock down is used more on commercial and low to mid range for the simple reason it hides alot of sin and saves finishing costs.
