I'm starting up a home inspection company. I've talked to a couple of agents in my area about it and have heard stories about inspectors scaring buyers away and killing transactions.
To me, I don't want to kill deals for no reason but the buyer (our client) should know what they're getting into. What advice would you have for best serving our clients?
I'm a big fan of inspectors and definitely don't want them to shy away from telling me what's wrong with a property.
I think savvy investors know that the inspection report always comes across as scarier than it is. I would just preface the buyer with that. Then tell them your goal is to give them every single issue you could find during the inspection so they have a comprehensive list to go off of.
At the end of the day, I don't want my inspector to be the optimist!
