I saw an Instagram story the other day that really resonated with me about reconnecting with BP podcast content on road trips, which leads me to ask everyone: WHAT are your favorite podcast episodes that blew you away, taught you a lot, or inspired you?
Please drop your stand-out guests or episode numbers below for me and others to check out as we hit the road this holiday season.
ALSO, I'd like to send a big shoutout to @David Greene. He's one of the clearest thinkers and explainers I've ever heard on any podcast or on any topic. That guy needs his own show!
I think it takes more than a great guest to make a great show. @Brandon Turner and @David Greene know how to get the best out of each guest and keep the conversation easy to understand and follow.
My favorites are the ones they do on their own, great content!
@Martin G., I am so happy you see value in what I've got to say. Especially considering the reality that my favorite subject is me, my extraordinary good looks, wit, and charm...and a little real estate, but not much :)
Love this thread and will definitely follow. We all know those "Spotify Year in Review" infographics; in a year full of pivoting and introspection, I allocated the most time to podcasts! 👍🏼 Also because road trips are a more favorable way to travel right now, I could use some recs.
& BP Podcasts are awesome. I've seen Matthew McConaughey on a few podcasts this year so I had to give a listen (first on The Tim Ferris Show). Hearing him with @David Greene and @Brandon Turner on EP #413 though was nothing short of eye-opening and memorable. Definitely a favorite and I love the down-to-earth, no bullsh*t aura throughout the episode.
@Julian Gonda thanks for your thoughts. I loved the episode with Matthew McConaughey as well. I really appreciate how a lot of the stuff I hear on the podcasts is applicable to other pursuits in life.
And @Ben Leybovich: it’s true—you’re like the Justin Timberlake of real estate investing...
@Martin G. great post to start. Some of me favorite episodes are below. These are the ones I've shared the most and listened to on the those long road trips and my many hours in that wonderful Bay Area traffic.
#326 Health,Big Wealth and Total Accountability with David Osborn, Pat Hiban, Tim Rhode, Josh
#362 Big Goals? Here's How to get your Spouse or Partner on Board with Jay and Wendy Papasan
#313 How to be Happy and Grow a massive Business with Jesse Itzler
Lastly, all the solo shows that @David Greene and @Brandon Turner do themselves. These shows always have great nuggets of knowledge, simplified for anyone to take action against. A great example would be Episode #400 "This Advice Changed My Life".
@Jason James Thanks so much for taking the time to write those up. I was just talking to a friend in Texas about how he could begin the conversation with his wife about RE investing. Common theme in podcasts seems to be 100% buy-in from both spouses; I’ll be sure to send him the Papasan’s episode. I enjoyed that one. I’ll also be sure to check out the other two you mentioned—haven’t heard those yet!
If you want some great throwback episodes with Josh Dorkin I think episode 108 and 250 are great. Whether you love or hate Grant Cardone I think he does an great job of giving us insight on the world of large multifamily investing and why many believe multifamily is a better asset class than single family.
At minimum, the episodes got me excited and got me laughing with some humor outside the normal BP podcast.

@Spencer Abeyta Thanks for reminding me to mention my deep esteem for @Joshua D. and how much I have enjoyed his insights and ethical integrity in those earlier podcasts. Josh is the reason I mention BiggerPockets to perfect strangers on a weekly basis. I have no problem recommending BP to friends, family, and perfect strangers because of the quality of the community he founded.
@Fradel Barber No kidding! Those guys are doing a really great job. Being a good interviewer is definitely an art.
Thanks Martin! Im flattered :) If you like to hear more, you can check out my podcast Working Capital 'The Real Estate Podcast' Brandon Turner was Episode #1
