I'm new to Bigger Pockets and to investing by buying and holding or flipping. We've mainly build custom and spec homes and started back up again after taking some time off to farm our land in the Kingfisher area. However, we hope to invest in homes needing some TLC. Anyway that's my short introduction.

We were contractors and knew contractors in the Siloam Springs, Bentoville, Bella Vista area not too far from you.

It was hard at first to know which sub-contractors to hire. But I'd say Word of Mouth and Reputation is key. In small areas you seem to hear more than you want sometimes. Haha.

You can PM me and I might be able to help you with some information in your area. I'd loved to hear what's going on in your area too as we would love to get back over that way.

Best thing to do instead of hitting the yellow pages sorta speaking.  Cuz oklahoma is so easy to start a business or to get started in construction but not everyone can handle what u through at them for their unexsperianced they can only do tile or sheet rock but not everything

Darrin, you are right about contractors not being able to do much of the work. That's why we just did a spec house with our sons 28 and 19 and have taught them virtually everything from ground up, except of course HVAC, Plumbing, and Electricity. We told them that even if they didn't want to do certain parts of the house, they should know how to do it. This way they know if the subs are doing their jobs properly.
