I was reading through posts and the last time I have seen this question posted was four years ago. Does anybody have any more recent opinions of the programs? Is the curricula particularly different or are they both somewhat equivalent?
@Chris Barrett, I also started with the LA course. Since then I've seen most of the training programs out there from friends. 80-90% of the courses are the same basic idea, sending offers to land owners. Then the other 10-20% of the programs provide a different focus on business plan IMO. LAcademy focuses on cash flips LGeeks focuses on selling on terms/owner financing Jack Bosch focuses on LOTS of different things, including what I would call wholesaling or assignment of contracts Seth/RETipster is a well rounded education and Seth has even said that the majority of his course information is available for free on this website, you pay for the structured learning course and having it all outlined in a logical order. Casual Fridays focuses on cash flips of Bass Boat recreational type properties and more recently moving toward large acreage subdivides
It really comes down to what type of business you want to build and unfortunately most people likely don't know that answer when they get started. So listen to their podcasts and choose the one that speaks to your personality the most.
I looked at 3-4 programs and picked the one that seemed to match my strengths and personality.
I joined Land Academy this year with the launch of their "Land Academy 3.0" update. I'm fielding calls from interested sellers from my first mailer and I'm working on my second mailer now. Steven and Jill basically play the numbers game -- if you use their approach to pick a good area and price it accordingly you WILL get deals coming in. The steps are all laid out for you.
Membership also provides you with all of the tools to get lists, analyze properties, send mail, and secure funding partners. The closed discord group is very beneficial and active.
The training also shows you how to take this from a "one-man show" to a business that allows you to choose which parts you do and which parts you hire somebody else to do. I'm clearly not there yet, but the path I'll take is clear to me.
My plan is to establish this business and use the profits to invest in multi-family rentals and self-storage
@Aaron Smith We have been through training on both programs. Found that our real value is to provide capital and underwriting for land flipper/investors. I can tell you that it works. If you can price properly and have the cash to send 10's of thousands of offers. Land Geeks focuses on terms sales, which given inflation and recession risk is riskier than just a year ago. When you're ready to scale up, hit me on the LA discord channel. Great resource and info there

My experience was terrible with Land Academy. They took over $16k from myself and partners for their program plus their offers to owners program and we didn't receive 1 response from over 6 different mailers of 12,600 mailers, which included our own addresses. When we raised this issue they were very slow to respond promising free skip tracing data, doing the mailers with first class mail, using Jack's feedback on areas to do new mailings and tracking data from the post office and we were blocked from the weekly owners call and the Circle communication platform. All of that would have been great and NONE of it was ever delivered. 6 months with their program and we never received even 1 text, email, call, nothing from a customer. Did our 12,600 mailings even get mailed, how come the mailers addressed to me and my partners were never received?Stay away... the management is sloppy, Jack and Jill, the founders are so isolated, they never hear any complaints. We were silenced and and our complaints were deleted. Our 52 emails were ignored. Please get the word out.
