When to file an insurance claim?

I just purchase a property to flip.  I was just broken into and copper stolen.  Damages are about $ 1000.00 over my deductible.  This is my 1st house.  If I submit the claim to insurance, will I have a problem getting coverage in the future?  Can someone with experience with this scenario help?
