Anyone know if you have to pay 6% sales tax on new construction SFR in Florida, specifically the Bonita Springs area? I am looking to build new construction and not sure if I have a new house built, if there is sales tax on it?
@Wayne Brooks@John Thedford- Thanks for replying. That's what I thought, but received a quote from a local builder and they added 6% Sales Tax to the Base price of the home and all the options I selected in the home (upgraded counters, carpets, etc).
Not sure what they are referring to. There is NO sales tax on real estate. They may be trying to pad their profit.
