Hi BP!
My fiancé and I are in Albany, NY and made an offer to buy a house and have now found out that it has Aluminum Wiring. Property is currently under contract.
Would this make you run, or would you go ahead (after getting it checked by an Electrician) ?

I sold a SFR a few years ago. It had aluminum wiring and electrician charged $1100 to remediate. All this involved him adding alumicon adapters to the outlets and switches.
This was in 2014 on a house with 1100 sf.
It took 2 guys about 6 hours to remediate.
If you like the deal, it might not be that big of an issue.
All depends on the price. I would say if it has Aluminum wiring, budget 8-10k for a complete overhaul and see if the deal still makes sense or if you can extract a seller concession (i.e. they pay/credit half)
I bought a house in 2014 with aluminum wiring and we've never had any problems. I believe I got a similar quote as Phil to correct with copalum crimps. I would request remediation from the seller.
