Grocapitus - Anyone have experience with them?

Hello,

Has anyone worked with Grocapitus and were their proformas accurate? Any comments on things worked out? I tried searching the forum expecting to find something but was having trouble.

I have 2 investments with them, so far so good. Happy to discuss more if you have questions. I did like their approach and that was one of the reasons for investing with them. I also have met them in person and talked more with them about the investment strategies.

I don't want to say either is better, it's just that Neal's style appeals to me more. Vinney is absolutely amazing and I admire him and would love to learn more from him, but from what I've seen of him and people he has worked with, he focuses on raising capital and acquisitions, whereas Neal focuses heavily on asset management and business building which personally interests me more. Neal has a background in education and science, so he uses real data to back every decision he makes and his companies share a 'tech-startup' mentality from their day-to-day workflow to their structure, using scores of VAs and no physical office. He believes and it is apparent that the way Grocapitus works is the way all syndication companies will be working in the next decade or so because of how effective they are. That's partly why he gives up so much free information about how the company is run; everyone is going to follow along, it's just a matter of time.

Anyway, to put it short: I don't want to say either is better; Neal's method is just so innovative and new that I think it'll be the only relevant method to be involved with in due time.

Side note: at Multifamily University, the price tag is $0k. They just have to charge for boot camps because of cost of the hotels.

@Adam Engle-Sorrell You would say that Neal is better than Vinney Chopra?  I only ask because I'm a student of Vinney's and my main draw was the 5k price tag.

Hey, I just replied to your older discussion on the topic so I've copy/pasted my response here:

"I have not invested with Grocapitus but I have met several people who have and I go to their "Multifamily University" Meetups fairly often. They and their investors don't typically spend much time on BP because they get the most value from meeting with Neal and his team in person at meetups and on phone calls.

Grocapitus is the most innovative syndication company I have ever seen though, so I would highly recommend attending their webinars and getting involved with them as an investor.

For full transparency, his Marketing Director of Marketing and Social Engagement, Eric Bleau, has been my mentor for the past several months so I am a little biased, but, having personally been to multiple boot camps and having met several syndicators like Vinney Chopra and Anthony Chara, I can confidently say that Eric and Neal are two of the smartest, and most well-put-together players in the multifamily syndication world I've met.

Also, I'm sorry they don't have much BP presence, their investor relations management team is Neal and one other person so I guess they haven't found time to come out here. Let me know if you have any questions! I'll try to be more active on here :)"
