Buying houses at auction is a whole different way of acquiring properties. I've "bid" on a couple houses but don't look at auctions at all anymore. I do sometimes mark them as a favorite on Zillow because often times auction houses show up on the MLS. Most of the auctions don't work like one would expect an auction to work in that the thinking would be that people make bids and the highest bid gets the property. Umm, not so much. The other thing with auctions vs REO's for instance, is that in an auction, there's a lot more likelihood that there are title issues. On most REO's, the titles are clean as other liens and encumbrances "fall off" when they're sold on the courthouse steps (or whatever method your locale uses) And you may even get some occupants along with your new auctioned property... lol.

There is no best website. It is always deal specific. Any website, mls, wholesalers, auctions, county auctions...they all have their good and bad deals.
