There are a lot of options now beside the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) from FEMA. These "Private Market Flood" options can be cheaper than NFIP often but which one will be best on a property is tough to judge. They all have their own algorithms that they use to price the coverage at a particular property. I would suggest finding a couple independent agents and have them run comparison quotes.
