Can anyone recommend the best way to clean all the walls in a house that have soot marks on them? We wiped with disinfectant & water but not sure if this was the best way. I need it to pass a CO inspection. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Disinfectant kills germs but you want to remove grease, cigarette smoke, and the dirt that sticks. Spray bottle with 1/4 vinegar and water- light spray wipe all the walls and rinse with clean damp micro-fiber rags (ring out hard) rinse with plain water. Didn't get it all? make a paste of baking soda and blue dawn and again the micro rags, then rinse. The key is DO NOT soak the dry wall until soft. Use a fan, let it dry. Doesn't work, paint over
