What's most important is that the cpa is real estate focused not necessarily Maryland based. I'd encourage you to expand your scope. How many properties do you have and are you looking just for prep or prep plus advisory?
@Edward Bartlett, hi. You don’t need a local CPA, what matters is real estate expertise. Most CPAs work with investors nationwide and focus on tax strategy, not just filing.
Hi Edward! There are a lot of great professionals on here who specialize in working with real estate investors and business owners like yourself, which is key if you're planning on growing your portfolio and business. I’d recommend interviewing a few to find the right fit for your situation and goals.
Also, many CPAs are virtual these days, so they can support you in Maryland and wherever your investing takes you. I do agree with Bill, sometimes going with the lowest-cost CPA can cost you more in the long run, especially if you’re looking for real guidance around business ownership and real estate investing that can take you to the next level. Best of luck and happy to connect!
