Hey guys,
I’ve been flipping and investing in the Bay Area for a few years now. I have a few GCs I’ve worked with, but honestly the experience hasn’t been great since they’re not very experienced with investors or flips. I get that everyone needs to make a profit, but we’ve had a lot of situations where we weren’t aligned on the full scope of work or materials. I’m looking for recommendations for GCs or contractors who are experienced working with investors. Any referrals would be appreciated.
Ideally, I mainly work in Santa Clara/San Jose, Walnut Creek, Orinda, Moraga and then lower priced Areas like Antioch/Brentwood for quicker flips.

Finding an investor-friendly GC is one of the biggest advantages you can have. The best contractors understand budgets, timelines, and ROI, not just construction. I'd also recommend working from a detailed scope of work with fixed pricing whenever possible to avoid surprises. If you're open to expanding beyond California, many investors are finding solid flip opportunities in Midwest markets, where having a strong local contractor network can make remote investing much easier.
