Contractor needed ASAP in Pensacola

Member since 2020 · 60 posts · 32 votes

Hello,

I hope that anyone that reads this post is having a blessed day.

We currently have a property sitting in Pensacola, FL that needs extensive renovation, to include full electrical rewiring, HVAC, Windows, some framing, kitchen, baths, beds, drywall and paint. This project is extremely delayed and we need to get it back on track ASAP. I would truly appreciate any investor savvy referrals that you could provide.

Thank you all in advance.

Frank — I did a little digging because your project is way beyond “find a decent handyman” territory.

I’d call David Del Gallo at Advanced Construction Services: 850-470-0446.

The reason I’d start there is the combination of scope and situation.

You need electrical, HVAC, windows, framing, kitchen, baths, drywall and finishes coordinated as one recovery project. David is a Florida Certified General Contractor and his company specifically does complete-home renovations, so you’re dealing with someone who can quarterback the trades rather than handing you six phone numbers and making you the GC.

More importantly, I found feedback from an investor who owns rental property in Pensacola while living out of state and specifically praised David for being the person he could rely on locally.

That sounds almost exactly like the problem you’re trying to solve.

Given how delayed the project already is, I’d call him with the existing scope, whatever bids/contracts you already have, photos, permit status, and a clear explanation of where the prior contractor left things. Ask him to assess the job as a takeover/recovery project, not simply quote a new remodel.

At this point you don’t need the cheapest contractor. You need somebody capable of taking ownership of the entire sequence and getting the project moving again.

    Hi Michael,

Thank you very much for sharing this information. I will give this guy a call to see if we can work things out.

The contractor that I currently have is one of the most unprofessional people that I have ever worked with, and I don't say this likely. My biggest mistake was since he was sent to me as a referral I cut corners doing my due diligence when vetting him and now I am stuck with someone that owes me money, doesn't reply to my texts, or phone calls. Additionally,  a project that he said would take no more than 2 months after getting the permits is already 6 months in and not even half way done.

    Frank.
