I am starting a free REI club in Manteca CA. We have many investors in the Manteca, Lathrop, Tracy, Ripon, Stockton, Modesto area with no local REI group that I know of. This will be a free group with an emphasis on helping each other avoid mistakes and teaming up on deals. Our first meeting is Wen Oct 5th, 7pm to 8pm. The agenda for this first meeting will be: introductions, find out what everyone is looking for in an REI group and networking. I will be providing food. Contact me for details.

Starting a REIA is fun and exciting. We run two clubs on the central coast (Paso Robles,Santa Maria). I would like to make a few suggestions to help you grow as we did. Use meetup to get the word out and help give you credibility, Buy banners and hang them on fences near or at intersection (they are really cheap at $20 each), Never service alcohol at your meeting. I have seen the Santa Barbara one have a speaker get drunk.lol

Thank you for the great advice Keith. Our plan is to keep the group small so that we can all share ideas around a table. The banners may not work for us, but the no alcohol is great advise :-)
