Hello, I am planning to house hack a 2 family in either Brooklyn, Queens, or Bronx. Any suggestions please for up and coming neighborhoods/good neighborhoods for renting out?
I recommend Woodhaven and Richmond Hill. Especially the area closed to J train. The price didn't go up much from 2019 to 2022. 2 family house with 3 bedroom in each unit around 780k to 850k. Some need major repair cost much less. The rental cost in this area is approximately $2000.
Hi Regina, that's great!! I'm a big fan of the Bronx. While it has increased the last few years significantly, it is still the most affordable borough and the one with the most room to grow. I like areas like Pelham Bay, Throggs Neck, Morris Park, Pelham Gardens, Parkchester, and some areas in Soundview. Although, there are plenty of other areas that would make sense as well.

Hello Regina!
Cesar has some great recommendations for the Bronx!
While the price points get higher in Queens and even higher in BK, here are some areas I'd recommend looking into:
Queens - Richmond Hill, Ozone Park, S. Ozone Park, Woodhaven, Southeast Queens (i.e. Jamaica, St. Albans, Cambria Heights)
Brooklyn - Cypress Hills, Flatbush, E. Flatbush, Canarsie
Brooklyn (usually) will get you more access to public transportation and Queens will get you larger lot sizes for lower (or comparable) prices.
I'd recommend walking/driving through different neighborhoods to get a feel for the commute and neighborhood. We've helped investors in all of these neighborhoods and finding quality tenants within 4 weeks is usually not an issue.

Thank you Tony! the rental cost in Woodhaven and Richmond Hill are about 2000 for 2 to 3 bedrooms? Also, what do you think about Corona?
