I discovered today that my Zillow Rental Account has been hacked. At first, I had trouble logging in, so I reset my password. I was able to log in with the new password, but when I tried to access applications, I received an error message stating the information was only accessible under an email account that I don’t recognize.
When I attempted to list my property for rent, I got another error message saying I don’t have access to do so. I’ve tried calling Zillow (but couldn’t find a working phone number) and emailed their customer service, but I haven’t received any response yet.
I’m very concerned because in the past I personally experienced scammers reposting my property listing on other websites, pretending it was theirs and asking people for deposits. I need to resolve this account issue ASAP to prevent that kind of fraud!
Has anyone else experienced something similar with Zillow? Were you able to successfully get in touch with their customer service?
Zillow is a real piece of work. Nobody answers or does anything there. Someone hacked one of my properties and put a crack house with pit bulls running around it. Kinda funny really. I can't fix it without divulging a bunch of personal info to Zillow, and that aint gonna happen. Its only a problem when trying to write an insurance policy. Lazy agents first go to zillow for your house info, and then you hear the "oh my, what's this"...ha ha. I have to email them actual pictures on that one. Meanwhile, maybe it helps keep the tax assessment down?? Pretty funny.
I did get my Zillow account back after some emails with them. I didn't get to speak to anyone from Zillow, which was frustrating. If I remember correctly, I reported the listing of my property through a link on Zillow. Then I received an email from their account verification team. After I explained the situation, they provided instructions for me to verify my ID. After some emails, eventually they restored my account. Hope it helps!

Thanks Kathy. Yes, I've sent multiple email requests to Zilow, not one answer. I got burnt out, frustrated, and gave up. I'm glad it worked for you.
