End to Lead Rebates in Cleveland
Jut received this response while applying for lead Clearance rebates in the City of Cleveland.
To ensure there are sufficient funds to process applications in the pipeline, we will accept applications until February 3.
After February 3, rental property owners can fill out an interest form, which will be available on the website (https://leadsafecle.org/property-owners/financial-assistance), in lieu of a formal application. If funds are available after processing all of the applications, we will work through the interest list until all funds have been depleted.
If you already submitted an application and have not received an award, there is no need to resubmit. Our team will contact you if there is any issue with the application or documents that we received. We are in the process of paying out awards in the order they were received.
This is a huge kick in the teeth for landlords in the city, especially as we received dramatically increased costs through Mayor Bibb's new orders on Lead testing requirements.
If you are a Cleveland landlord, please reach out to your councilmember on this. or you can support Ohio House bill 118
