Seeking Landlord-Side Attorney for MRVP/Section 8 Eviction in Canton, MA
Hi everyone,
I’m reaching out to the community for a referral to a rock-solid landlord attorney with deep experience in the Norfolk Housing Court (Dedham/Stoughton) and the Massachusetts Rental Voucher Program (MRVP).
I am a live-in landlord (owner-occupant) of multi-family in Canton, MA. I live in one unit with my two young children and I am currently dealing with a high-friction tenancy in the other unit that has reached a breaking point.
The Situation:
* Tenant Type: MRVP (Section 8) tenant currently on a month-to-month (tenancy-at-will) basis.
* The Conflict: Persistent lease violations for marijuana smoke/odors that affect the entire building and my children's living space.
* The Complexity: The tenant has historically denied the behavior and has pre-emptively claimed "harassment" and "retaliation"
My Goal:
I am planning to issue a 60-day "No-Cause" Notice to Quit to regain possession for my family’s quiet enjoyment.
What I’m looking for in an Attorney:
* Specialization: Someone who only or primarily represents landlords.
* MRVP Savvy: Needs to know the specific administrative steps for notifying Metro Housing Boston/AA simultaneously.
* Owner-Occupied Experience: Understands the specific rights of a landlord living in a two-family home.
I’d love to hear from anyone who has personally used an attorney for a subsidized eviction in Norfolk County recently. Or
Who is the "slipper shot" attorney you’d trust with your own home?
Thanks in advance for the help!
