I'm a Military member and have to rent my house out this summer. I'm new and slowly learning about the Land Lord role. If i'm moving in July when is the best time to list it? thanks for your time and input.
I generally list 2 months in advance. This will avoid dealing with applicants that need a place immediately. They are generally either being evicted or are skipping out on their present landlord. Good tenants always plan well in advance of a move and must provide notice to their present landlord.

@Mike Martin, I would agree with about two months. Problem is, as you and I both know, if you would like to get a military member in there after you, they likely won't be able to look that soon. If it is a great property in a great area, then you should be able to rent it without any problem and quite often can do it sight unseen. PM me and give me some specifics and I will be able to help. I have three rentals in this area and haven't had a vacancy yet. I have been renting them since 2011.
