Has anyone had any experience in the Cleveland market with disputing the property tax valuations? The re-evaluation in fall 2018 resulted in greatly increased property tax values across Cuyahoga county. Does anyone have successful strategies for getting value reductions when working with the Board of Revisions?
Yes, I have experience in working with the Board. Several years ago, I worked with my client who purchased a property with high taxes. We were able to get her a reduction in rate in the end.
If you don't have a purchase agreement with the sold price, try getting an appraisal to dispute the tax value.

The best way to win is with strong evidence that you are correct on the value. Your purchase agreement & comps from similar properties go a long way.
