Be careful what you post on this message board. There is a reporter around here taking screenshots. These screenshots can end up in the wrong hands. This could lead to lawsuits because you know everyone tries to sue everyone over anything these days. Admins please delete this person ASAP!

The reporter is obviously taking the worst aspects of BP and posting the screenshots for clicks. That said, this is a massive public forum. Of course there are bad actors and scumbag landlords among the ranks. There are also newbies like @Jay Hinrichs pointed out.

Is the solution to ban this reporter? Hell no. What would that do? He could still visit the site and take screenshots. This is still a public forum. Bottom line, in my mind at least..... Don't want to be featured in an article about scumbag landlords? Don't post like a scumbag landlord. Be willing to stand behind everything you post.

The current social media landscape allows the court of public opinion to rule on any post, even those taken out of context. This is true for Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and certainly BP. Be mindful of what you post.

that's funny.. BP Is no doubt a landlord site and a begineer landlord site at that.. I made a comment
Landlords ask the dumbest things.. and that is certainly true on BP.. but hey they just don't know what they don't know
so they are trying to learn.. I don't think the person who Is posting on whatever they are posting on realizes that so many landlords are rookies and first timers..

After reviewing the site, it appears as though the material ranks right up there with the "newspapers" (cough, cough) you find on the checkout stands in a grocery store.

These people are scum. People who don’t have the discipline to save their own money and get their **** together so they blame landlords.
Are there some slumlords? Sure.
The vast majority of us are mom and pops, but we have to put up with professional squatters especially here in NY.

Somebody posted “abolish landlords”. Lol. Yes, let’s do that. Everybody who doesn’t own must then be tossed into the streets? Or are we supposed to just give people the keys to our property and not collect rent?

Referring to people as "losers" - typical internet trash that should be called out

Late fees - legit question (we all need to understand standard fee structures)

Pest control - legit question (most pest control is the resident's responsibility and it's spelled out in the lease)

Pets - hard to say without the full post but if the context is correct, this post should be called out

I don't have a problem with accountability (including the author for selecting a few posts out of millions).

well govmit could provide housing blocks and include housing for society.. there are some really nice ones in Cairo the garbage chutes are out the front windows down to the ground.. LOL

Whatever. Don't even react. We'll keep doing what we do here, helping each other out and they'll eventually go find some other hardworking segment of the population to vilify. I never got the social media thing. Huge time sink and just a cesspool of misinformation and confirmation bias. Oh, and the pack mentality bullying exhibited presently.
I chuckled at the "abolish landlords" comment, too. Without landlords, every person whom is not a home owner would live where?

@Wesley W. YUp I wonder what the percentage of renters are to home owners in America.. in some parts like the mid west I suspect its over 50%

Have you ever had the pleasure to walk through a Guvt run low income housing complex/ghetto or walked through the myriad of homeless fetid encampments these idiots sanctify. One of our <<<C-class properties brought tears to a woman needing a home so she could escape her low income Guvt run ghetto slum.

So their anti-landlord 'walk to the guillotine' implied violence and pathetic socialist theories fail under Occam's razor, they're certainly not buttressed by it?

Bigger pockets is a community for people who love th RE game and those who want to learn about it. It's an open forum and like EVERY business you have good people and bad. Theres not one industry in the world where everyone is good. Let this reporter highlight the negative because they dont know better. I'm going on my third rental property and my second bigger pockets helped I immensely.
