I am about to close a triplex soon. Can I meet the tenants before closing?

There's no law against knocking on someone's door and speaking with them. Personally, I prefer not meeting my tenants because I don't want them calling me with drama or excuses of why rent is late. I like to keep it more professional and communicate in writing.

I guess my bigger question is: why can't you wait until closing? Are you just excited to get started? Until you own the home, you can't do anything with the current tenants so it makes sense to wait until you're the owner.
